Anyway, to answer your question, I had the same issue. I quit the church at the age of 13. My wife was protestant...methodist or some shit...but she paid absolutely no attention to it. Neither of my sons were baptised - which caused some friction with my parents although not for the reason you'd think. My oldest, when he was around 14 had a jewish friend and one day he said "do you know jews don't believe in jesus?" I said "neither do I." I went on to explain that lots of people believed a lot f stuff because they were born into it. It did not make it real.
Neither he nor his brother give a shit about religion and he's 41 and his brother 38.
