Theists in general are more open minded to everything in their holy book.
This gives most religious people a hell of a lot of room for maneuver since the mainstream religions cover beliefs in things such as giants, witches, talking animals, magic, and most importantly gods.
Outside of the book nothing is even to be taken into consideration.
The best example of this, a Nigerian I worked with who believed in mermaids, vampires, lizards who turned into men and ghosts. But there's no chance of convincing him dinosaurs existed. It's not even up for debate.
As an atheist I probably am more close minded than theists. I do have ridged close minded opinions about all the holy books, I think they're all bullshit. Including all supernatural creatures included in them and supernatural actions.
To me it's another example of a word/phrase being thought of as negative when it isn't necessarily, being close minded.
Same goes for ignorance. Ignorance can be a virtue, the best way to stay focused on importance things is to ignore the unimportant things.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
