AR's are a poor choice of weapon for an insurgency, but they would be..since they're designed to be sporting rifles. You'd think that people legitimately purchasing for their defense would pick a weapon based on something other than looking real cool while playing soldier against a paper target. OTOH, the marketing campaign for the black rifle was so successful that it didn;t just hoodwink the gun nuts, but also their opposition into thinking it was something other than what it is.
