Whenever a democrat is in the oval office, the republicans bitch endlessly about government spending.
When one of their own is in charge? In my lifetime I have only seen one republican president try to be economically responsible and he was hated for it; Bush Sr raised taxes when he needed to and the entire republican party had a collective heart attack over it. On a related note, the only president who has had a budget surplus in my lifetime has been a democrat.
Regan was more than willing to throw money away on the Star Wars program. That's wasteful government spending. Dubya was always eager to piss money away on war, rejecting any attempt to end it. That's pretty wasteful if you ask me. The bailouts weren't exactly the hands-off government republicans always say they want, either, but Dubya was the one who coined the phrase "too big to fail." Now the orange moron wants to increase defense spending and build his wall. No doubt there's a wealthy contractor out there, eager to get his hands on the money Trump is willing to spend on that wall.
