Hell. Every politician is misleading and flat out lies. It only matters when a republican does it though.
Very personally; I hope they do cut food stamps to build a wall and/or increase military spending.
For those that aren't able to work, there is social security. And it should pay more that what it does. I know a few disabled folks that need help to make ends meet when things are going good and we help when it is needed.
For those that are able but not willing to work; that's a totally different story. My area of the Midwest is doing well with a 2.6% unemployment rate and I have a tough time finding even unskilled workers. The jobs are out there. If people need food stamps because they aren't willing to support them self; I'm all for letting them starve in the street. If people aren't "willing" to be a productive part of society, then they should have no benefits from that society.
