This sounds a lot like high Calvinism where Calvin taught that some individuals who perish in infancy were predestined to life eternal while others were predestined to perdition.

1/2 of number one and 1/2 of 2. Because that is all that is consistent with a contextual reading. Calvinism is a hoge podge of verses fragments compiled to form a cherry picked religion.
I say Jesus makes the choice of who is and is not, because that is what the bible says. and it is not based on what we say but our hearts. Calvin leaves out that bit.
I definitively have better things to do with my time than to parse through this one. As for Jesus, he's dead and he's not coming back, ever.
