However, this is mostly when the testimonies are looked at in a very vague sense. Another reported that the accounts he investigated varied quite a bit, with some reporting some of what was seen but not others. For instance, not all had seen the sun rush towards the earth or observations are reported at different times and order.
Similar effects have been shown to be the result of starring at the sun. I think that this explains what was seen, not by taking away the information or trying to change the reports, but by adding information, that explains the event, using the testimony provided.
