RE: Personal experience says religious folks are more prone to mental diseases

Let me rephrase.
I think negative environmental factors certainly can trigger someone who is already genetically susceptible/prone to mental illness. Like everything else, religion can certainly be a negative or positive environmental factor. So in that sense, yes. Religion could play a role or be a contributing factor in someone's mental illness. But to say theists are more prone to mental illness is incorrect. Genetics makes people more prone to mental illness. Unless in extreme cases where something very traumatic happened, someone who has no genetic susceptibility to mental illness isn't going to become mentally ill.

"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
