It would be pretty remarkable if we evolved on a planet that did that, wouldn't it? It would take a miracle, I guess. For the record, our distance from the sun varies by about 3.5 million miles each year.

We observe that there are laws of nature, that is, regularities and predictableness in our measurements of natural phenomena. They are not like human or religious law, which prescribe behavior; they are merely descriptive, not prescriptive. Why would an atheist (or anyone) hesitate to admit the existence of observable laws of nature? If you want us to believe someone created them on purpose; just get the author to step forward and take a bow for everyone to see.
