Why would god put the tree there in the first place? Any parent should know not to put anything potentially harmful in front of their kids. You wouldn't put a dangerous tool in your toddlers bedroom then blame the toddler for touching it. You as the parent should know better. Same applies to god, he should of known better. Plus being all knowing means he did but did nothing.
Also what doesn't make any lick of sense is what was the purpose of the tree? Why was the snake there, how did the snake get there? Why did god do nothing? Why does god blame his creation instead of himself who designed and created it? Who even knew of it's entire future?! Seems like it was all done on purpose. Because I really could of done a far better job.
If I can do better than your god, then you can safely assume that your god was made up.
@ Ace, Kayenneh, edk 141 First off the serpant was not a snake, snakes crawl around on their bellies and the serpant was condemned to this condition by God, this means that the serpant had a different means of getting around before God made it to crawl around on it's belly, I hope this puts an end to this snake deal.
Yes any responsible parent will child proof their home as best as they can. How is it that you believe that you can apply your flawed thinking to an omniscient being. Adam and Eve were created as fully functional people, read the story and the responsiblities God gave them, if they were child like they would not have been able to do these things, being fully responsible functional adults with the knowledge of right and wrong God gave them one thing not to do, eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, God created them perfect and He wanted them to stay in that innocent state of being. However God could not receive the love He desired from them if He did not give them the freedom to choose between Him and the evil Lucifer brought into existance. Hence the choice, the tree was placed there so they cold exercise their right to choose, if God had not put the tree in the garden then their freewill would have been a deception by God and God could not deceive them, it's not in His nature. It seems no one remembers that God walked with Adam and Eve in the garden every day, I'm thinking that during these walks God imparted knowledge to them that was useful to their lives as caretakers of this beautiful garden and enjoyed the relationship they were building, a relationship of love. Most people do not even realize that Lucifer was with God in the garden as He talked with Adam and Eve, in this time that Lucifer was there he probably was able to determine their weaknesses when they talked to God and during this time Adam and Eve saw Lucifer as the perfect being God had created him to be. When Lucifer and the rest of the fallen angels lost the war to over throw God he was banished to earth and here he seized the opportunity to deceive Adam and Eve, he knew he could not appear before them as a fallen angel because they woud have seen the change in him and not trusted him, they also would have been supicious as to why he was there without God. This is why he used the serpent to tempt Eve, he knew Eve would not be so untrusting of the serpent. Now Adam ans Eve knew nothing of the pysical death because to this point in time nothing had died, they did know of spiritual death because God told them if they ate from the tree of good and evil they would die and I,m sure He explained to them that it was a spirtual death, He did not explain physical death until they ate the forbiden fruit, again read the story. Lucifer knew this also and the conversation between himself and Eve was of a spiritual nature not physical, again read the story. Lucifer himself did not know of physical death until after his fall, all of God's creation was dealing with the spiritual nature, so Lucifer knew Adam and Eve would not have understood about physical death, that's why he tempted them by saying they would be like God, powerful with this new knowledge. Know you all think this is a bunch of nonsense, you asked the questions and I replied, so have at it if that is what pleases you, I given you the truth as I see it.

That would still be you
No, not in reality.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
