Because chimp isn't disrespecting your views, he's disrespecting your god. Unless you choose to make it personal, the two are not related.
Respect is earned, not demanded. If a god is offended, it needs to deal with that by itself. Have it come here and tell us in person.
Besides which, any god that takes offence at such petty disrespect is a petty god and not worthy of the title.
