Maybe we didn't like your explanation. Those people he was talking to tasted death, and the world kept spinning. Jesus told people to abandon their families, and get rid of everything they owned, because he didn't think they'd be needing them again in the near future. It didn't turn out well for them for the remainder of their lives.
