I'd say he doesn't like the radical Muslims that he's surrounded with in the Middle East, not Muslims in general.
Anyway, personally I appreciate him denouncing the extremism within Islam. I always like to see a Muslim standing up and speaking out against all the radicalism and saying "these people don't represent me and neither do they have my support." I've always seen that as a positive thing I guess.
