Actually, employees do have the right to free speech. It's just that they can get into trouble by their employers for exercising that right.
I have every right to tell a customer that she's being an annoying twat, but it doesn't mean I get to keep my job for having exercised my right of free speech.
The focus should not be on the players or the owners for that matter. The focus should be on 45's dangerous rhetoric that is not appropriate for someone in office. It is dangerous what he is doing, and talk like that over long periods can erode checks on power if enough buy into his tactic and follow him.
