If you think what the Dems are doing is enough, the problem will never get fixed (and let's not forget that Colin Kaepernick started out his protest by specifically slamming Hillary). Bill Clinton signed legislation that led to the mass incarceration of blacks. Real black leaders like Michael Eric Dyson, Cornell West and Tavis Smiley shit on Obama by calling him a Republican in blackface who didn't want to help the black community and who's 8 years in office only put blacks in a worse place than before, but I guess Barack still has the admiration of... rappers/ singers like Jay Z and Beyonce, and clowns like Al Sharpton.
LBJ "I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for 200 years."
Except of course there's no evidence he ever said it.
What he did say was: ""You know, I've lost the South for the Democratic Party." Upon occasion of signing the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which was passed with a higher percentage of republican votes that democratic. But the president always gets the credit or the blame for what congress does.
Either way, my point stands. I like Brian. He's a good guy, and of course he doesn't have to completely agree with what Kaepernick feels about the Dems. Kaepernick is only one man afterall and it's fine to have a different opinion, but to say that this is only a problem on one side, makes it sound like the Dems couldn't even improve in this area a little bit. Like they're basically perfect, and that kind of claim does a disservice to the cause that Kaepernick and all these other people are fighting for. Things will not improve if major pressure is not put on both sides. Thinking that one side is a lot better than the other is fine, but thinking that same side doesn't need any pressure put on it to do better or fight harder is only going to prevent positive change from happening, and I think most people here would agree with that.
