I am sure he would, but I think the bigger picture as to why he is such an asshole bully is that his dad verbally abused him and probably physically as well. His dad hated losing and taught him to win at all costs. And when you look at the rise of despots even outside this issue, at a minimum they come from strict authoritarian families.
Abuse often leads one to grow up to abuse others.
