All these exchanges filled with hate are exactly what is wrong with the world. Too much hate and not enough compassion and understanding for other people. I get it - religion and politics are two subjects that people can get rather heated about. But for real - how about leaving out half the hate and see if that makes a difference? Each side's opinions are important to them - whether they are right or wrong. It's time we started saying "You know what - I know you're not going to be swayed by anything I say, so how about we just agree to disagree and move on?", instead of lowering ourselves to the level of third graders with some of these insults. My own kids know better.
Honestly - we are all a bunch of internet strangers so is anything that is said on this thread going to matter five minutes, five hours, five days, five weeks, five months or five years from now?
If the answer to any of that is no - then how about toning down the hostility some and engaging in a debate like grown ups? Seriously we do have several teens on these boards and is this level of hatred really the sort of thing you all want to impress upon them?
I seriously hope not. Two of the teens on this board happen to be my sons and when they come to me and start questioning why there is so much hate between a bunch of people that will most likely never see each other face to face, I have to work hard to give them honest answers.
