Where the curiosity about why honoring George Washington in the church he helped founded is problematic for some people? Can't anyone else see the madness of a culture that reviles the courage, piety, and principles that gave birth to one of the greatest republics ever in the history of the world? What is wrong with you people? Political correctness and identity politics are destroying civilization from within and some of you would rather mock and ignore the enemy in your midst.
“You people”?
The article makes it pretty clear that the church made the decision. What do you expect a bunch of atheists to say about an internal church matter? If they value keeping the pews full and the offerings rolling in more than they do honoring historical figures, what concern is that of mine? Why aren’t you pissed off at your fellow Christians in that church?
For the record, I esteem Washington far more highly than any Biblical figure, so it wouldn’t have broken my heart if they had left up the plaque and taken down their gruesome cross. But again, church politics are of no concern to me.
