I vote republican more on the local and state level for economic reasons. At the federal level I vote based on the individuals platform. I don't vote the party line.

Conservatives are still assholes at the state and local level too.  All that "Fuck you, I've got mine" bullshit is nothing but assholery. They might not be racist (many of them still are) but they certainly are assholes.
