Certainly most of the world doesn't have as much mass shooting.
I think it will either end after a nuclear war that ends everything . . . or after a distant transhuman utopian future that solves everything worth solving. Basically I think eventually technology will make or break us and we certainly can't rely on the good of humanity, sadly. I can't imagine a political utopia, I think politics is always going to be bad. I think science is our only hope but depressingly it also gives us more powerful tools to kill each other.

Realistically, never. Not sure the motive yet, but the Las Vegas shooting probably inspired the shooter somehow. Police couldn't stop that one. They might not have been able to stop him.
