Perhaps I'm not making myself clear. I am looking for published PhDs, preferably with expertize in middele eastern history, who are current or relatively recent professors at universities ad who have published on the issue of Jesus' existence. Thanks for the references Chat. I will look into those asap.

Since you’ve changed your requirements to include relatively recent you might look into Alvar Ellegård. He died in 2008 but had published in the area of mythical Jesus.
