The solution is simple:  If you want a gun buy one; if you don't want a gun then spend your money on something else.  That's known as "freedom".

Americans, 4.4% of the world population, own 1/2 the privately owned guns in the world. 3% of Americans own 50% of the 256,000,000 guns in this country.

For goodness sake, it's not everyone has 5,000 guns and ammo in his palace = http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-gu...LU20151204.  Do you have any idea how much that would cost, even if they were bought from thieves?
