How and why can people ignore their God’s immoral ways?

Do you not realise that jesus plagiarised that from pre-existing laws such as the Hammurabi code, which itself plagiarised other traditions predating jesus by thousands of years? Jesus was simply regurgitating an ancient tradition that was prevalent in his own time. Hillel even espoused it long before jesus turned up. It had only been around for thousands of years before jesus was even born. How is that any sort of divine revelation?

I dont see how or why it makes a difference if Jesus was reiterating a moral standard that already existed. With that being said, I was referring to this line specifically:

"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

I once did good to those who hurt me. It left me with considerably less than what I began with, money and property-wise. While it's important to do good, merely turning the other cheek, or praying for them, won't keep you from being taken advantage of. This is bad advice, and I'm sure it has hurt far more people than just me, trying to follow it.

Was he saying anything to slave masters? I don't know. I know he wasn't telling servants to stand up for themselves and leave when they're being disrespected and threatened.

Good video to watch, if you want to know how common the Jesus story really is.
