I dont see how or why it makes a difference if Jesus was reiterating a moral standard that already existed. With that being said, I was referring to this line specifically:
"Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."
So you agree that the sentiment predated jesus by 2,500 years. Why is jesus special in that case?
