I agree with Cinjin that what a politician says while in campaign mode doesn't mean a thing, but the fact that he went against his party's established idiocy should count for something. After all, he had to have known that not acting like a complete moronic asshole was not going to get his party's nomination, yet he refused to toe the party line. That counts for something in my book. Not much...but something nonetheless.
