It's nice that your liability will go down next year, but there's a lot more to the economy than your or our final tax bills. For instance there's the question of whether enough revenue will be raised from economic expansion to make up for the loss of revenue from the lower taxes and the increased spending on the military and other funding the GOP favors. Historically it usually hasn't worked out like that. We had a great economy under Bush, until the record-breaking crash. There's more to a sound economy than constantly 'priming the pump'.
GOP members keep running on getting the deficit down, but that's never what they do when they're in office.
My liability is important to me. For years and years I wondered why the standard single person deduction was lower than the Fed poverty level. At least now, for a short time I would guess, a single person with no children will have an automatic deduction of 12K - $60 short of the fed pov level. Long overdue. And that is without debating whether the Fed pov level is an accurate reflection of poverty.
Yes, there are questions out there regarding revenue. That is a we-will-see for now.
