Could cut mine to zero and I'd still be insured. Peace of mind is priceless...now, if only I didn't have to worry about my kids, and watching all of my hard work just pizzle away when they get hurt.
I've been there before, when the big girl was born. The wife and I put in a combined 120-140ish hrs a week, neither of us anywhere near min wage..and then spent about 10 more every week just driving to the hospital for tests, treatment, physical. Took..oh, idk, 3 months to completely exhaust our insurance, savings, sanity. Got a car repoed, had to move into a shithole, she lost her job, then we had to move in with friends out of state, sold everything we owned that we could sell, had to move back to FL, ended up on wic and snap. Probably about one flat tire away from divorce. All of this during the recession, mind you. OFC, when we ran out of insurance, and couldn't come out of pocket anymore, we were informed that..hey, you know, there really wasn't anything else that could be done. Not that anything had been done, mind you. Info we could have used much earlier I imagine..but there was money to be made!
It was a real fucking blast, I can totally see how some poor fucker with no service benefits, property, college, connections or extended family and friends could bootstrap up and out on minimum wage by "spending and working smarter".

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
