Let me guess, your president will give a heart touching talk and then there will be heavy discussions on gun control for 2 days before everyone shifts their attention to the most recent boob job of one of the Kardashians.
Actually in America our current President will remain silent on the issue. Republicans will tell us "Now is not the time for talking about gun control! Don't politicize a tragedy!" Then, the next time an illegal immigrant kills a single person, they'll immediately politicize that tragedy by calling for a ban on immigrants.
So in short we've went backwards. We don't even get the heartfelt talks anymore. Until it actually effects the people in their ivory towers, nothing will be done.

You don’t compare one country to the other, but look at the difference before and after for those who have banned firearms. I live in an area where there are quite a few firearms. And there is very little issue.
