He's right, though, in the sense that we as a society need to address whatever issues might be causing such alienation. Granted that it's a miniscule proportion of murders, but I think we can agree that the root causes of this particular mass-murder also underlie other, less deadly social issues.
Doesn't it behoove us to address them?

When will America realise that giving the general public access to firearms is a bad idea.
I accept that exceptions may need to be made for farmers, people living near dangerous (non human) animals etc. but these should be strictly limited.

When anything can be a weapon, we'd ought to spend our energy addressing causes rather than means. I mean, if you want to kill ants, you can stamp about the countryside all day long, or you can look for the hive.
