Because killing people is okay if they won't give up their legally-acquired property on demand? About 30-35% of American households have one or more guns, and most of them will turn over their guns peacefully rather than take on the authorities. That will only leave a few thousand little Waco scenarios. And sure, there will be some cops killed and some collateral damage, but it'll be worth once those gun owners are all disarmed or dead. It shouldn't affect you personally, because no one you personally care about owns a gun. And afterwards, America will heal right up, just like we did after the Civil War.

It's good to see the people marching.  After having solved the issues of women, racism, and science with very successful marches, we'll be able to cross guns off the list real soon.

     I hope your right, the gun issue needs to come to an end once and for all. I see five key issues at hand here. Getting rid of Trump, deflating the military budget, gun-control, getting out of the middle east and protecting the internet from censorship. If we can focus on these five issues and put a dent in them, it will be a good start.

You also need to make an A-rating from the NRA poison for re-election. No real change on this issue is possible as long as half of congress is beholden to the NRA and doesn't see a path to re-election without them. The makeup of the elected officials in Congress has to change dramatically, and it will take more than one election to pull it off to the degree needed. A bare majority won't be enough.

When death-by-spoon becomes a big enough issue, then I'll advocate to have a ban placed on the evil utensils.  

Like in the UK, you can't carry a knife unless it's a folding knife with a blade no longer than 3 inches.

How many mass shootings have been the result of an attempt to confiscate guns? How many attempts (in the US) have there even been to confiscate guns?  How did you gain the ability to see into the future and determine the consequences of an hypothetical attempt to confiscate guns?

There haven't been many attempts to confiscate guns in the USA, but Waco (started with search and arrest warrants for firearm violations from the ATF) and Ruby Ridge (failure to appear on firearms charges) come to mind.
