The only countries they are behind are a small handful of western European countries that spent centuries plundering the rest of the world. I'm in southern Spain right now, and there is no way it has a higher standard of living than the USA.

Heh, since you are in the hood, come to Portugal. Good food, places to see and prices comparatively are cheaper (wages also are lol). Its rainy but its much needed.

I would love to go to Portugal, everyone speaks very highly of it here, but I ended up with a bike, and visas limit my time, I'm biking from Malaga to Barcelona. I've been getting hit with the same rain!
