Mentioning doctors, etc, subtly to mock the issue of my mental health, and I am not going to debate semantics.
My insanity has been my biggest evil, yet overcoming to many degrees and coping with it has been my greatest virtue.
Anyone makes any joke belittling any type of mental illness, will be on my ignore.
If you don't care, go ahead, do it. But you will be on my ignore, I guarantee that.
Welcome back MK,
FYI I suffer from depression myself. It hit me really hard during my mom's surgery and decline and death.
But when it comes to ANY and all religions, and I am not even joking here, you take someone with say depression, or bi polar or schizophrenia and mix that with a lifetime of indoctrination it can compound those conditions and lead that individual to become destructive.
Even with Christians here in the states. Andrea Yates is a prime example. She murdered her kids, to "send them to heaven" because she feared that God thought she was a bad parent and they would end up becoming evil.
In my prior posts to you about your "romance" of how you view the world and your god, I don't do that to make fun of you, but when I did believe in god myself, having a lifetime of being bullied, a lifetime of being ignorant of my own mental issues, and desperate to fit in, that mixing of religion didn't help.
Yes I do criticize Islam, AND Jewish and Christianity, and Buddhism and Hinduism, but I do take mental health issues very seriously knowing I have them, and it runs in my family.
My older sister is even worse off than I am, she is almost a decade older than me and she cannot hold a job to save her life. She has had to live off her boyfriend and our biological mother and government assistance most of her life. My younger sister suffers from anxiety and depression too, but like me she is an atheists, and between the 3 of us, me and my younger sister handle it, while not perfectly, still far better.
My older sister pins all her hopes on the bible and I can tell you all that has done to her is make things worse.
Now, I am not telling you to ditch your religion but I am saying treating mental illness with old books that are not modern knowledge as to psychiatry, psychology and neurology is not the way you manage mental health issues.
It does not make you evil to have mental illness, I am simply advising you to handle it with professional and not religious care.
