I had my work trial today, and it went better than I could have possibly hoped. I was shitting myself with anxiety right up until the point when I started, and after then, my determination to prove myself took over. The staff there are wonderful people, and the other receptionist looking after me couldn't have been kinder.

Somehow I finished a whole working day, the first in about 12 years. I fought the urge to give up at about 3PM, and found a second wind.

I honestly think they will probably offer me this job. I won't know until sometime next week, but I feel it couldn't have gone better. My depression has had the shit kicked out of it, and my self-esteem has been given a much needed boost. The usual horrible turmoil in my head of just wanting to die has quitened significantly for the time being.
