He was going over there hanging out with Kim Jong Un trying to bridge the gap between east and west. His visits were meant to solve the korea issue by opening a dialog and forging a personal relationship with the dictator. People trashed him as crazy, reckless, and naive the whole time. Now 4 months later, the korean war is over.
There's no evidence Rodman was the cause, but his optimism on the matter appears completely vindicated.
