I mean, look at what he says here:
Neo Wrote: I see knowledge as a means to an end, not an end unto itself.
That's the problem with your whole view on things, Neo!
It totally sums up how he cares about the Christian agenda more than knowing the truth itself. If his aim was to seek out knowledge for its own sake perhaps he wouldn't be so ignorant of the fact that his faith was a load of bollocks and certainly not worth being made the aim of knowledge.
I agree with most all of this except for two things. One, I haven't read Drich because he belongs on ignore. And two, Neo's obsession with a Christian agenda bothers me less than his obsession with treating people as objects. Perhaps he is somewhere on the spectrum or maybe he is depressed. People who suffer from anhedonia aren't motivated by the normal range of human responses and also have difficulty understanding the motives of others.
If there are constitutional reasons for his insistence on treating people as means to ends it is understandable and much more easily forgiven. If it is a character flaw, then it reflects poorly on his understanding of the character and message of the Jesus in the stories of the bible. Doesn't look like he gets it.

Neo Wrote: The Light dwells in the darkness and the darkness knew it not. This lot have put blankets of falsity over their windows having already closed their eyes to truth.
To each his own. I'd nominate this part personally: (But congratulations on figuring out how to quote people directly in that thread.)
Neo Wrote:By asking about the role of Christians on AF, I’m not concerned about our personal motives, such as finding community, verbally joisting, or playing games. I question, in general, if there are any justifications for Christians, as Christians, to participate on AF and if so what such reasons could be. Throughout this discussion I will argue that Christian participation on AF, and similar venues, does little to glorify God or further the Kingdom. Additionally, I will argue that participation on atheist forums, ultimately, is of little benefit to developing and strengthening an individual Christian’s faith.

And as for this question:
Neo Wrote: As such, if you have no ambitions beyond educating yourself such as overcoming objections of non-believers so they may come to Christ or strengthening your faith to be more effective in other missions?
If CL has no ambitions beyond that... then what? He's completely missing the then part. If you have no ambitions besides X so they may Y then ??????????
Agreed. I find fundamentalists obsession with rule-following and the non-stop judgement of others boring, annoying and pathetic.
