And it is obvious you and what's her name have no compassion for other, living or dying.
I don't say they shouldn't. I'm just pointing out that the chief good it does the other person is to show you really do care about them. Obviously that is said from the point of view I share with Jormy that prayer is an entirely intra-personal affair without interpersonal or transpersonal transfer. I don't say there is anything wrong with it as such. It is actually quite sweet. But I sure wouldn't want to be distracted by that sort of thing on my own death bed.
When you are on your death bed you just might see things differently. Jormy seems to think we pray people dead, that's as false a statement that could have been said, we pray for mercy because we also ask for healing if that would be God's will. We can't know these things so compassion is what helps use in these things. I've asked for God's healing for mom for some time now and watching her suffer as she has I've asked God for His mercy upon her if He isn't going to heal her. I would rather her to be gone and at peace than to suffer the way she is with life. You must remember I do not believe she will be with God, I know she will.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
