And that is precisely why I find it hard to believe this world is ruled by an all powerful good.
However, it's pointless to blame humans for misusing the scriptures when the scriptures themselves outline how women are to be mistreated. Unless you are admitting that humans wrote the scriptures.
Caveat: Don't challenge me to list those scriptures, because I will for all the world to see.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.
