He's operating under the cocksure knowledge that they need us more than we need them.

I do not think they would agree with that assumption.

It's tough to keep score here - how many of our best trading partners are we now currently engaged in a trade war of our making?

Seriously, the man inherits an economy that was cruising along just fine and then he's gotta shove his junk into the machinery.
