If we look at Cuba, they have more doctors per person than anywhere else in world (physicians per 1000 people, data by World Bank) because they have a goverment that actually cares about its citizens. In Cuba the goverment pays for practically everything for everyone so it would be misleading to simply state "Cubans have incredibly low wages" as it doesn't take into account the reality of life in Cuba.
Did you know, for example, that Cuba has developed a vaccine for cancer of the lungs? Did you know that expectancy is Cuba is actually equal to that of the United States? Clearly, life must not be that bad in a socialist country. Just look at all of these alcoholic beverages (including beer) at this bar in Havanna:

I truly believe that you are the naive one in this case Brian.
Just because a communist country does some things better does not mean they get everything right. Cuba and China and Russia SUCK at allowing dissent. Not everything has to be an either/or proposition.
I think we can allow the private sector and provide non private sector health care universally. I don't think we need to become a one party state like Cuba to do that. And unless you are from Cuba, please spare me. If it is so much better there, move there. The Castro mafia family would have someone like me arrested or murdered.
