===================
Saudi Arabia is changing, and this time the change is gigantic. The Wahhabi religious rule that held the country is being replaced by a nationalist, royal one, now drinking whiskey and having sex outside of marriage is highly admired by many.
Women were allowed to drive cars after years of prohibition due to the teachings of the Wahhabi school. Concerts and parties that involve "shy" mixing between the two genders is now being practiced, Wahhabi figureheads were locked in prison with sentences that go for years.
There are even local Saudies that began to act in porn movies and invade the porn industry:

Seeing this kind of "liberation from Wahhabi customs", make us expect to see an identical "liberation from dictatorship and royal tyranny". But that is not the case.
Actually, arrest for atheists, people aren't even religious, and local Wahhabies alike, increased in the Kingdom during the liberation period's beginning:

You are not seeing a "liberation". You are seeing the tactic of "throwing bread and games to the people" in an attempt to keep them busy and diverted from something else.
The kingdom is heading towards bankruptcy; the American President Trump have sucked -and he keeps on sucking- the kingdom's money directly and through weapon deals:
also another report from CNN about how Trump asked Saudies to increase oil production, and how Saudies said yes:

My personal expectation is that this is the end of this place. The Sauds days are ending, and as this oppressive regime came, it will go.
Toys and games, sex and alcohol hide and mask the brutal political grip in the kingdom.
Well, I would not expect them to suddenly give up Islam anymore than ending slavery made our Christians say, "That was a bad idea".
Ok, here is the rub, if they are trying to be more western, GREAT. But how much free speech is going to be allowed even with these alleged changes?
I would guess they are, if they really are progressive, looking to still hold rule, but still be alot like the Royal Family of England, at best. Accepting that they are mere living museum pieces. But that, as great as I would wish it to be, seems to be a stretch for that country. But, then again, from what you say, here, looks like smoke and mirrors.
