Actually knowing God is not an easy task.
It is true that the teacher will show you the way to get there but at the same time it is you that got to do the hard work.
A bit like when you want to get a degree or you want to get a black belt in martial arts.
The teacher will teach you but you are the one who got to struggle so in a way may be as hard as to bang the head on the wall except that banging the head will produce only negative results while engage in spirituality will produce very good result.
