This is a dumb-fuck argument, akin to "I don't wear seatbelts because I want to be thrown CLEAR."  For every death that's been thwarted by an easily-obtained gun, there are probably hundreds of accidental child shooting deaths every year.

Perhaps my position would not seem so inane to you if media reports of citizen "good-guy-with-gun" stories were more widely reported.

Now it is legitimate to have different interpretations of data. That is not what you are doing. You are resorting to insults in lieu of reasoned debate.

Yes, there are accidents involving children. That is a separate issue and it seems to me that stiffer penalties for irresponsible gun ownership are in order.
