I have a bad feeling that Kavanagh will still be confirmed.  He's been groomed for decades to take this position.  This is one more step in the soft coup of America by the religious extreme right.  There could be a tape showing Kavanagh trying to rape that girl, and they would just say he was still a kid, and there is no evidence it wasn't consensual, and confirm him anyway.

None of this matters.  Just like with Trump.  They do not care if they put install monsters, as long as the monsters will carry out their agenda.

I suspect you're right. The Republicans have already signaled their intention to ignore the second and third accuser by scheduling a vote on Friday morning.

Ultimately, this is becoming less a referendum on judge Kavanaugh than it is a referendum on the process. If none of the Republicans vote no, that will be a telling indicator of their willingness to endorse a corrupt process if it's in their party's interest to do so.
