I think it's funny when theists judge other theists on beliefs alone, also the hypocrisy when they choose to ignore the "others" bad acts.
I guess you can go by experience. If almost every member of a group has espoused certain beliefs, then it's reasonable to assume the next one who comes along will be the same. In fact, why would they join, if they don't agree with the monolith?
I haven't had much to do with any of those groups, but I can imagine what you're saying to be true. With much broader things such as Christianity, it has been diluted to meaning almost nothing.
