The Formosan Termite (Coptotermes formosanus) – A termite infestation is never a good thing, but these termites are particularly destructive. Formosan termites hail from Asia and were introduced to Florida in the early 1980s. They can do serious damage to the wood structure of your home—often within as little as three months. Due to their destructive efficiency, they are often known as “super termites.”
