The evolutionary "EWE factor" comes about when you have grown up with somebody of the opposite sex. The familiarity is a turn-off. That potential partner we have never met has a certain exotic appeal. A married southern redneck I once knew used to talk about, "getting some strange."

At least amongst guys (since we're pigs), there is definitely something appealing about that fruit you haven't had yet. This is part of the evolutionary strategy against poor genetic pairings.
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
