You know you hear this a lot, but it has to do with our overall theory of crippling and oppressive firepower, applied in an instant and sustained without interruption until nothing is moving. The way we pull it off without unbelievable amounts of friendly fire is mainly by positioning and communication, not target recognition. If an element is out of place it's pretty much automatically assumed that it is enemy contact. We do this because it works extremely well, and with complete understanding of the limitations of this particular tactic ( I was a SAW gunner btw, so I would be the worst offender in a ff scenario, as the only person likely to be carrying a fully automatic weapon). Hilariously we don't really stress rifle accuracy anymore unless you're talking infantry, and the kids behind the keyboard on that missile platform were probably drunk and watching Buffy not but an hour beforehand. So many jokes about US soldiers but not a lot of appreciation for what they do, yes, even for you Brits (though as long as you aren't implicating the infantry I'm totally on-board with you, the rest of those fuckers are not squared away).
US missiles btw, are nasty as shit, who manufactures your missiles in the UK?
Shoot first, apologize to the widow later. If you guys don't like the way we play maybe you should take your ball and leave.

I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
