It's the telephone marketers......
Thankfully (Legally) they can only cold call land-lines, home phones.
Still.... random calls going off all most all hours of the day....
I don't like the telemarketers, but that doesn't mean I don't have fun with them when they call. Every guy is "maam" and every woman is "sir" and I use the terms liberally whenever I reply to anything. Then I just run them around in circles until they get frustrated and hang up on their own. I mean really, if I wanted "computer tech support, then I would call them. Not them call me. I don't need an extended warranty on a car, van, or truck, and I don't need new windows.
IMO, the dumbest call from telemarketers are the ones for security systems. One of the first questions they ask is "Do you own a home security system?" So what if I say "No" and you're really a thug trying to find out if I have home security? Doesn't seem too safe.
Oh *Groan yes!
When 'Fred' from 'Telstarra' calls about my internet connection.... Now I simply ask them if they're going to require me to down load some 'Free trial software' and thence to be put straight through to their 'Supervisor'.
Pretty much ends up with the second person just yelling at me in disgust before they hang up.
