I'd love for Trump to be impeached, but I highly doubt that the Republicans will give enough of a shit about the rule of law as it applies to the President to make it happen. In the last two years, have they?
Even if the House manages to push articles of impeachment through, the Senate requires a 2/3 supermajority to convict. We have 53 Republican senators, 45 Democratic senators, and two independents who both caucus with the Dems. This would require about 20 Repubicans to vote for conviction. Can you name 20 Republican senators with the balls to stand up to Trump? And that's not to mention the fact that both presidents to be impeached were acquitted.
