I've literally had to defend my life with a firearm before and I'm still here. I think like prey? You're delusional. You think like a 19-year-old kid who's never had to defend their life from someone who was trying to kill them. Hopefully, you don't get yourself or your wife or someone you love shot one day trying to play that bullshit tough guy role. Take it easy buddy.
Nah. Was in the Army, and spent much time overseas. Spent plenty of time with weapons, mostly small arms. Not going to say anymore, because no reason to. If you think your way is best, then I'm sure that's how you'll live life regardless. I will tell you I don't live scared though, and if someone does try to rob or mug me, they better be quick on that trigger. Not because I hope it happens, but because I'm not going to submit to someone's criminal behavior. If you're willing to, no prob. Understood. But that's not me.
Ah great. Reminds me of the many stories I've seen too many times on the news, "Veteran killed attempting to thwart bank robbery." Sad that you think that way man. But I've seen people, even some with training, freeze up. You say it's not about ego, but it is; this is evidenced by the fact that you say you're not going to "give in". You clearly have a chip on you're shoulder and a point to prove. Problem is... You're not going to teach anyone a lesson. Period. Probably just piss the guy off and get yourself or someone you love killed trying to be some kind of "teacher." What a joke.
If you're frightened of dying, and you're holding on, you'll see devils tearing your life away. But if you've made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the Earth.
